Rasmussen College Women's Cycling Summit: Introduction

On Tuesday, June 10, cyclists from across the country gathered at the Rasmussen College Women’s Cycling Summit, part of the Great River Energy Bicycle Festival.
Summit Mission: The Rasmussen College Women’s Cycling Summit is an opportunity for women to celebrate women’s cycling, to learn about the most effective initiatives in their sport and to discuss issues of common concern.
The conference began with two team presentations, the Nature Valley Women’s Cycling Team and the Ryan Collegiate All-Stars.
Nature Valley Cycling Team
The Nature Valley Women’s Cycling Team is a composite team of women who placed highly in the Nature Valley Pro Ride, which consisted of three qualifying races, the Tour de Ephrata, the Wente Vineyards Road Race and the Tour de Winghaven.
The Nature Valley Women’s Cycling Team included:
- Kristine Church, Tour de Ephrata
- Bianca Grecu, Tour de Ephrata
- Janeen Thorpe, Wente Vineyards Road Race
- Alison Starnes, Wente Vineyards Road Race
- Lauren Green, Tour de Winghaven
- Michelle Jensen, Tour de Winghave
Ryan Collegiate All Stars Team
The Ryan Collegiate All-Stars Team was selected at the 2008 USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships, May 9-11, in Fort Collins, Colo. Selection was based on the final overall standings (omnium). The Ryan Collegiate All-Stars Team is composed of six riders, each from a different collegiate team, who are not members of teams already attending the Nature Valley Grand Prix.
The Ryan Collegiate All-Stars Team included:

- Anna McLoon, Harvard University
- Amanda Miller, Colorado State University
- Jen Stebbins, Dartmouth College
- Carla Swart, Lees-McRae College
